The project founder had extensive experience in retail and HoReCa, but most importantly, he understood the pain points of offline business owners. When I joined the project, some research had already been conducted and initial hypotheses had been formulated.
The main challenge was to figure out how to implement a physical methodology for improving offline business using digital tools so that the finished solution could be scaled further. It was obvious that AI and Сomputer vision tools would help me. The fact that there were no analogues of such a product in the world and it was impossible to see “how to do it” (or “how not to do it”) added to the complexity.
I “locked myself” in a meeting room for a week with the product founder and studied it thoroughly. I understood the whole logic of how it should work in the end, what actions/levers are needed offline. Then I started connecting offline with online and came up with the logic of the relationship between consultants, AI, and Computer Vision.
Sadly, because of the NDA, I can't show you any photos of the logic work, but trust me, a lot of markers were used up.
I understood how the system could work from a technical standpoint, what we would be processing, and what results we could obtain from CV (Computer Vision). Next, I had to design a tool for collecting, processing, and displaying this information.
If everything was clear with our potential client's employees and we needed to design a mobile app to obtain information about customers, as well as the quality of employees' work and their management, there were still many questions regarding visitors. After all, there are quite a few legal restrictions in the area of personal and biometric data.
To solve the problem, I designed User Flow Mobile App for three roles. And to resolve the issue with personal data, I also designed a User Flow for a cash tablet to register profiles directly at points of sale, which would allow us to obtain consent from customers to process their personal data and contact details for further interaction.
This is how an ecosystem emerges

Each role has its own functionality in the mobile app, and for the tablet, I have incorporated a separate function within the entire ecosystem.
I designed mobile app where the cash register camera recognizes the customer before they take off their jacket, and the consultant receives a ready-made AI script before the first “hello.”
There was very close communication with the development team at all stages, as it was necessary to synchronize the CV and the application.
Taking into account several roles and preventing information leaks to outsiders, double verification was implemented. The application itself displayed the online/offline status of employees, and managers could add employees and remove them from the system. Employees use the application as their main tool for obtaining information about customers and personalized offers. We gave the director the ability to view analytics for individual “points” and for the entire network. The director also has full functionality for managing employees and their access.
